Woman4Cyber: A Journey of Learning and Empowerment
Over the past five weeks, 26 women from Sasbo’s BEC structures embarked on a powerful digital journey through the Woman4Cyber Program — a 100% online, self-paced training initiative that equipped them with the knowledge and confidence to navigate today’s cybersecurity landscape.
Delivered in partnership with Febelfin and powered by Melsoft Academy, this program blended self-guided learning with weekly check-in sessions, live interaction, and knowledge assessments through quizzes. Each week introduced a core cybersecurity concept, reinforced with engaging content, videos, and live discussions led by Mr. Tinashe Matanda and Ms. Thabile Mhlanga from Melsoft.
Here’s a snapshot of the 5-week journey:
Week 1: Cybersecurity Essentials
Week 2: Viruses & Malware
Week 3: Passwords & Windows Security
Week 4 & 5: Final Assessment & Post-Mortem Reflection
Despite the fully online format, the commitment was phenomenal — with 98% total attendance across all sessions. Those who couldn’t attend live were still able to catch up via recorded sessions and complete quizzes at their own pace, showing true dedication and adaptability.
The program will officially conclude with a mini virtual graduation, where all successful candidates will be issued their certificates of completion, symbolizing not just the end of a course, but the beginning of their journey as cyber-aware women in the finance space.
Below are a few highlights and snippets from our weekly check-ins, showcasing the engagement, enthusiasm, and growth of the participants. This program stands as a testament to how digital learning can be inclusive, flexible, and transformative.
